COMPUTEX 2026 Concludes: Chinese Display Manufacturers Lead Industrial & Commercial Sectors, Surge Demand for High-Brightness Screens in Europe

COMPUTEX 2026 wrapped up on June 2 in Taipei, where leading global display makers unveiled cutting-edge solutions including OLED, Mini LED, full-color e-paper, and 1000-nit sunlight-readable industrial touch panels. The display industry is undergoing a structural transformation, with robust demand growth for commercial and industrial screens across Europe, especially Germany.
Latest data from Counterpoint Research reveals global capital expenditure on display production equipment will jump 53% year-on-year in 2026, while investment in OLED manufacturing equipment surges by 77%. Samsung Display initiated mass production at the world’s first 8.6G IT OLED line at its Asan A6 plant in South Korea this May, supplying 14-inch and 16-inch OLED panels for Apple’s new MacBook lineup. Chinese players Visionox and TCL CSOT have also launched their own 8.6G high-generation production lines targeting laptops, automotive and commercial displays, breaking long-term overseas dominance in large-size advanced panels.
Chinese suppliers TCL CSOT, Tianma and HKC stood out at COMPUTEX with products tailored for overseas market demands:
  1. Full-color low-power e-paper signage & digital frames (13.3–31.5 inches): No backlight required, 18 months of operation per single charge, ideal for European retail stores, libraries and offices. Inquiries from Chinese supermarkets and cultural shops in Germany rose by 62% month-on-month.
  2. 1000–3000 nits high-brightness industrial touch screens: Designed for EV charging stations, construction machinery and outdoor retail billboards with outstanding sunlight visibility. Industry reports confirm 1000 nits has become the baseline standard for outdoor displays in Europe and the US starting 2026. Purchasing demand from German smart infrastructure and automated factories climbed 18% year-on-year, with Chinese supply chains capturing mid-market share via cost advantages.
  3. Premium automotive, foldable and gaming displays: Mass displays of Mini LED QD panels, Tandem stacked OLED and embedded industrial touch HMIs are showcased for new energy vehicles and factory control terminals.
Industry analysts highlighted promising opportunities in Germany: continuhttps://szheadsun.en.made-in-china.com/product/ZdLGgmWKEcAw/China-Fishfinder-Chartplotter-LCD-Touchscreen-Replacement-for-Lowrance-Elite-12-Ti2.html?pv_id=1jqqrh8o60fe&faw_id=1jqqrh8u8b47&bv_id=1jqqrrhig836&pbv_id=1jqqmp0hle12jous renovation of retail spaces, outdoor digital signage deployment and factory automation upgrades generate steady orders. German local businesses increasingly prefer direct sourcing from Chinese manufacturers to avoid steep markup from regional distributors. With sea freight consolidation and local return warehouse support in Germany, Chinese foreign trade sellers can significantly lower entry barriers for customized small-batch display exports.
Supply chain restructuring continues: capacity previously allocated to smartphone LCD panels is shifting toward industrial, commercial and large-size IT screens. TrendForce statistics state global OLED monitor shipments jumped 78% YoY in Q1 2026, with commercial and industrial high-end screens as the core growth driver. Experts predict export orders for high-brightness industrial touch displays will rise further in the second half of the year, boosted by Europe’s ISE exhibition and Germany’s industrial trade fairs.
