Introduction to the structure of capacitive touch screen TP

"G+G, G+P, G+F" is the structural classification of TP. The first letter is the surface material (also called the upper layer), and the second letter is the material of the touch screen (also called the lower layer). The two are bonded together.

G = Glass; F = FILM; "+" = Bonding

G+F can only achieve single-point touch

G+G or G+F+F can achieve multi-point touch

1)
G+F process structure of capacitive touch screen

The first layer of the capacitive screen with G+F structure is the surface tempered glass, and then a layer of FILM film material. That is, glass cover + OCA + Film Sensor. Glass cover: plays the role of protecting the screen and optimizing the surface texture. Generally, tempered glass with high strength, high hardness and good light transmittance is selected. OCA: is a solid optical glue with good viscosity and high light transmittance. It is used for the bonding between the glass cover and the Film Sensor. Film Sensor: The sensor made of FILM film material is the signal function layer of the capacitive screen, which transmits the touch signal. With it, the touch function can be realized. The scope of application of this structure: suitable for products below 3.5 inches, low-cost solution.

2) G+F+F process structure of capacitive touch panel

The first layer of the capacitive screen with G+F+F process structure is also the surface tempered glass, but the difference is that 2 layers of FILM material are added. The difference from the G+F structure is that an extra layer of Film Sensor is added. G+F+F can achieve multi-touch, and the screen is thinner, and the cost is higher than G+F. Because pet (plastic material) cannot have circuits on both sides like glass, 2 layers of film are needed to achieve multi-touch requirements.

3) G+G process structure of capacitive touchscreen

The capacitive screen with G+G process structure, that is, GLASS+GLASS, has a first layer of tempered glass on the surface and a second layer of glass material Senser. The biggest difference between it and the G+F structure is the use of glass material Senser. The characteristics of G+G capacitive screen: hard and wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, high light transmittance, smooth control feel, and good reliability. Since the surface cover is tempered glass, its surface is very hard, with a hardness of more than 8H, and it is very good at preventing scratches.

4) G+P process structure of capacitive touch panel screen

The first layer of the capacitive screen with G+P process structure is still the surface tempered glass, and then a touch layer of PC material is added. Features of G+P capacitive type: low cost and simple process. Disadvantages: not wear-resistant, not corrosion-resistant, poor light transmittance, slow control, and poor reliability.
